27th March Meeting Video

Is up and on Vimeo.com.  We've created a Vista Squad account so all our content will be going there from now on.  Only thing I wish I could do is embed the video into the blog posts, would be pretty sweet. ***UPDATE*** Ian Smith, in the comments below has pointed out to me that this is possible, will be embedding later. :)

Vimeo allows you 500MB of uploads per month and streams HD content which is what we're going to attempt to do.  We're also allowing you to download the source videos to allow offline viewing.

Have fun! :)

You CAN embed Vimeo video in your blog. Just move your mouse over the video while it's playing and click on the "embed" option which will give you the snippet to include in your blog.

The only thing vimeo won't let you do is embed a high definition (HD) version of your video (assuming the source material was uploaded in high definition). You can only embed standard definition video so users who want higher resolution will have to go to vimeo to see that.

In the case of Vista Squad videos the 27th March meeting video IS high def but the "Softgrid" video from this month's meeting ISN'T HD because there was no way to generate a video that ran for over an hour in HD and still came in at under the 500MB allowance Vimeo gives you (from memory I think in HD the video came in at 590MB).
