I’ve just come back from an excellent and well rounded evening, Microsoft After Hours the Sequel hosted at Microsoft’s London Site, were Viral Tarpara http://blogs.technet.com/tarpara, Jamie Burgess http://blogs.technet.com/carpediem and Paul Foster http://wotudo.net, gave a fun filled and action pack talk with demos covering a great many subjects some of which follow:-
Live Services
The next Xbox experience – avatar based (sort of like the Wii but way better) updates available online from 19th November.
Mesh
Robotics
Home Server
Also looked at the growing trend in Netbooks with one running the Windows 7 PDC2008 release (6801) Cool! Ran better than I thought it would with great Aero response for such a small device.
The demos were spot on with great interaction from both the presenters and audience, showing that the latest developments and innovations in computing are out there to enjoy, and not just there for the boring things in life like work.
I think it’s time for us all to enjoy ourselves and become more passionate for the tools we use on a daily bases, and find out that there are more new and exciting ways these can be used to enhance our digital life styles.
I would just like to pass on my thanks to Microsoft for hosting the evening sandwich and all, also thanks goes to the presenters for keeping us all entertained.
I think the real message that I will take home tonight is to go out and push the boundaries.
IT’S TIME TO PLAY!
