    4OD on Windows Vista

I have just posted on my blog with steps on how to install Channel 4's 4OD service on Windows Vista.

If you have upgraded and would like 4OD then check it out!

    Hi James

I have just read your post with interest.

I really want to get 4oD on my notebook and can't as I have Vista!

I have just bought a brand new Dell and so am a bit worried about messing it up (not a computer whizz as you might have guessed),

is it safe to download 4oD illegally, or rather, by changing the pc settings?

    Thanks!

    Janey

    Hi James

Just tried and tested your instructions, running on Vista Home Premium.

Works great. your instuctions were spot on worked after an upgrade to Media player.

Looks like a very popular blog on our site thanks from us all.

    Regards

    Re: 4OD on Windows Vista

    Hi Jane,

I don't think that downloading and running 4OD on Vista is illegal but am not 100% sure.  There is a good reason as to why 4OD isn't supported by Vista (it doesn't work properly yet) but you are certainly able to try and get it to work yourself.

You probably won't "mess" up your PC by installing 4OD as per my instructions but since 4OD isn't yet officially supported by Channel 4, if you do anything that causes a crash/freeze/data loss, Channel 4 won't help you.

If you are still really serious about getting 4OD to work on your Vista PC then send me a private message with your email address and I will send along the installer (but it is all at your own risk etc...).

    Thanks for the interest!
