Strange...

    Strange...

    Here's the problem.
    I have a file server (2003 R2 i386 member server on a 2003 R2 domain).
I have a Vista ultimate workstation, an XP workstation and a terminal server (2003).

I have set up a share on the file server and set the share permissions to everyone has read/write.
I have set up a group in AD and assigned it NTFS permissions to read write in that share (having blocked inherited permissions).
I have made my user account a member of the group.

When I access the share from an XP box it works fine, when I access the share from the terminal server it works fine, both using \\servername\sharename.
If I access the share from the vista machine I get access denied unless I either:
Add access for the servername\users group or access the share using \\IP address\sharename rather than \\servername\sharename - Both of these are impractical in production.

Name resolution works from all machines (can ping the server by name and it resolves to the correct IP address). This is also the same on the other vista box which my colleague uses so appears to be an OS thing rather than a config thing.

Any ideas? I am a little stumped.

    Re: Strange...

SP1 seems to have fixed it however it has now caused my mouse to be jerky as hell, a problem that my colleague James has also been having. Curiouser and curiouser!
