    Vista Anytime Upgrades

Anyone think the anytime upgrade costs on Vista are pretty steep?  I have a desktop with Vista Home Basic and really want to upgrade to Vista Ultimate.  But £160 for an upgrade license is crazy expensive not really happy with what I saw on the sites. ;)

Is the Anytime Upgrade Pricing too Expensive?

    Re: Vista Anytime Upgrades

    Hi Ray

I was running Home Premium, and paid just £130.65 including an upgrade disk inc. shipping direct from Microsoft site to do an anytime upgrade to Ultimate.

Yes I agree the coast is high, but after installing and setting my Dreamscene deskstop working I think it's worth every penny.

Yet "PC W***D" charge £199.99 I guess it may pay to shop around a bit for upgrade price.

    Re: Vista Anytime Upgrades

I think its a bit steep considering Vista home premium OEM can be bought for £70 and Vista ultimate OEM for £120 so I would think the upgrade really should'nt be more than £50 as that is the actual difference in the OEM pricing.

Well thats my opinion, and eveyone elses I have talked to about the price of the Vista Anytime Upgrade

Edit: It seems Microsoft have lowered the anytime upgrade prices now vista home basic to vista home premium is £134, and vista home premium to vista ultimate is now £107

I think I will wait a little while longer to see if the price holds at the current level or drops before i buy my upgrade from vista home premium to vista ultimate
