    Explorer Crash

    Hi all

Had a real interesting Vista problem yesterday that at present I can’t yet find a cure for myself or checking out the manufacture or the internet.

The fault is on a brand new Dell Inspiron 6400 running Vista Home Premium and only came to light after Office 2007 SP1 was downloaded and installed.

On re-booting said laptop the tool bar shows and the mouse arrow appears on the screen but that’s it no matter how long I leave it the desktop never appears.

The immediate fix is to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager - Process  Tab and end explorer.exe process then select Applications tab - New task and key in explorer.exe and away I go.

This seems to work ok and the laptop seems fine for several reboots then the problem appears again.

I have uninstalled Office SP1, also set the system back to a known safe restore point, even booted in safe mode but the fault still keeps happening. Spyware and antivirus has also been scanned for.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
