This tool really has been a great help over the last few weeks, I have had to do quite a few presentations, and it’s just perfect for grabbing screen shots and capturing images.
Far superior to the old print screen option in previous versions of Windows giving the option to save you snip’s as .JPEG’s, .GIF, HTML, and PNG file formats our just to save direct to the clip board for inserting in Word documents etc. You are able to capture full screenshots to small region shots with extra benefit of a small drawing tool to enable you to draw arrow’s or diagrams over your snip.
- Click Start click All Programs
- Select Accessories
- Select Snipping Tool
- The desktop will go misty, to select your image just Drag the cursor around the area you want to capture while depressing the Left mouse key.
Snipping Tool options
Within the option selection you can set a few parameters for this tool to be guided by:-
· Hide instruction text
· Always copy snips to the clipboard
· Include URL below snips taken from (HTML only)
· Prompt to save snips before exiting
· Display icon in the Quick Launch toolbar (very handy)
· Show screen overlay when Snipping Tool is active
Once you have made you snip before saving your able to the select a pen or highlighter, great for pointing to important parts of you screenshot, if you make a mistake while drawing you even get an eraser.
