    Wifi Ad Hoc Networking

    Wifi Ad Hoc Network

If you find that you need to set up a temporary network to connect two or more wireless devices with no network access point, it is now possible in Windows Vista

This is a great way to quickly and easily share your files with a friend or colleague.

    1.      Click Start and select Control Panel

    2.      Select Network and Internet

    3.      Open Network and Sharing Centre

    4.      Select Set up a connection or network (from the left hand column)

    5.      Select Set up a wireless ad hoc network

    6.      Click Next

    7.      In Network Name enter a name for your network

    8.      Then Select the level of security from the drop down list (if you use WEP input a network key you would like to use)

    9.      You can now save this configuration, tick the Save this Network checkbox or if you will use this connection just this once leave the checkbox blank.

    10.   Click Next

    11.   Then Close

Your friends or colleague can now join your AD Hoc Wifi network. (If you used WEP then they will need the network key you inputted earlier).

Very nice.  Seems like its quiet easy compared to XP.
